Situation
As part of The European GNI Subscriptions Lab, a collaborative effort by the Google News Initiative (GNI), the International News Media Association (INMA) and FT Strategies, FT strategies engaged with six publishers through 10-day sprints to help drive their reader revenue.
Engagement
- FT Strategies delivered a customised 10 day design sprint where participants solved for a pressing business issue.
- Each publisher brought a cross functional team of 4-7 employees to the engagement in order to design, build and test realistic prototypes of products/features, including newsletters, personalisation features and more.
Results
At the end of the programme, the attendees:
- 100% of participants said the programme would have an impact on their business, with 63% stating it would have a “significant impact”
- Ran over 6 experiments with live customers, producing tangible feedback and next course of actions for participants
- Instilled structured approaches and methodologies for generating and testing new ideas across the firm
- Promoted cross-functional collaboration which is often rare amongst the organisations
