The Role

  • We are looking for an experienced and driven candidate to work in this boutique consultancy within the Financial Times.
  • You will work in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment as we scale our consulting business. You will be central to that growth, shaping how it succeeds.
  • You will be an early team member of a funded startup within an established institution - an extremely rare opportunity.
  • You will be joining a driven and dynamic work environment, playing a key role in maintaining our key partnership with Google, working on the programmes we run for their Google News Initiative team, with the mission to collaborate with journalists and entrepreneurs to help build the future of media.

About You

  • To be successful in this role, critically you will have significant experience working as a project/programme coordinator or manager. It is desirable but not essential that you also have experience of working in a consultancy and/or media organisation.
  • In addition to experience, it is important that your passions match ours. We’re looking for individuals who have a deep professional interest in the following areas:
  • Media. The media industry is fundamentally changing. Where will this disruption lead, and what opportunities and challenges does it present?
  • Subscription economy. Business models are evolving to be more customer-first across sectors. What are the capabilities that underpin a loyal, sustained and commercially healthy relationship with a customer base?
  • Data. Intelligent use of data is increasingly a competitive advantage for businesses across all industries, whether it is used to optimise internal processes or build a better product for customers. How can businesses use data to create new value?
  • Startups. As a startup within the FT, this is a small team with a high-growth mindset. There can be little structure and lots of ambiguity. Does this excite you?

Required skills

  • Plan and coordinate programmes for news publishers from across APAC
  • Monitor implementation of programme policies and practises (as regards participation, third party involvement, and engagement with Subject Matter Experts)
  • Managing budgeting and scheduling
  • Coordinate communications of delivery teams
  • Maintain relationships with senior internal stakeholders (FT experts and speakers) 
  • Help maintain relationships as well as upsell and cross sell where applicable
